2014 Men's World Championships - a call for volunteers

US Lacrosse would like to thank the Colorado Lacrosse community for its interest in leading and supporting our volunteer efforts surrounding the 2014 Men’s World Lacrosse Championships, which will be held at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park July 10-19th, 2014

USL is calling lacrosse enthusiasts in the Denver metro and surrounding areas to assist with the World Championships. We want and need your involvement and relationships to recruit more great people to our Host Committee. To help us gather volunteer information we created an online application form. All individuals who are interested in volunteering must fill out this form.  It should take 5-10 minutes, maximum.

A description of the roles and responsibilities of each Committee is included on the application page. We are working with Jim Soran, Ted Baruch and Rick Giancola, our Host Committee Chairs, to ensure that each Committee Chair and their Committee members have a clear vision and understanding of what their goals and objectives are.  This should also help Committee Chairs and others identify and recruit the right people to each Committee.

Please feel to reach out to Colleen Evans, Assistant to the COO, at cevans@uslacrosse.org ; 410-235-6882 x. 178, or the Host Committee Chairs with any questions, suggestions, thoughts or ideas regarding any of the information included in this email or anything else related to the 2014 World Championships. Stayed tuned to the member newsletter for future updates, including a link to the 2014 Website which will launch in late February.

A quick overview for those not familiar with the World Championships:

The World Championships is a ten day event featuring international competition between as many as 38 Federation of International Lacrosse (FIL) countries. It occurs every four years, most recently in England in 2010, and is hosted in conjunction with a masters and youth festival. Denver was chosen by USL as the site for the 2014 World Championships and will be the largest lacrosse event in history.
