We are happy to announce our 6th Annual Charity Lacrosse Event, “Lacrosse Cures”,August 14th, 2010! This is a competitive 3v.3 CHUMASH tourney to showcase talent and raise money for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Colorado’s Sports Buddies Program. 100% of the tournament profits will benefit the Sports Buddies Program. The Sports Buddies Program matches at-risk youth with their own individual Big Brother or Sister who helps them navigate the unique circumstances of their young lives. This group focuses on using sports as the conduit for friendship and provides opportunities to learn about, participate in, and watch a wide variety of athletics with their Big Brother or Sister. Athletics have played such a significant role in all of our lives; this is an excellent opportunity to expose others to the wonderful world of sports. The tournament’s mission: Quite simply, bring the Colorado lacrosse community together and get under privileged youth involved in sports.

What is Chumash Lax:
Chumash is played by two teams of 3 players each on the field. Each team may have 1-2 substitutes. There is one goal in the center of the field. The purpose of each team is to score on its respective side of the goal. There are NO goalies, but goalies are encouraged to attend as field players. You may have seen Chumash Lax featured at The Vail Shootout.
