With a win over Boston at INVESCO Field, the Outlaws can take possession of first place in the MLL
DENVER –The Denver Outlaws continue their regular season-ending home stand Saturday, as they take on the Boston Cannons in a battle between the best current Major League Lacrosse teams. With both teams sitting at 7-3, the Outlaws will be vying for the top spot in the MLL with a win over the Cannons. The Outlaws will have key players returning from the 2010 FIL World Games for Saturday’s match-up, including Attackmen Brendan Mundorf (18G, 15A) and Drew Westervelt (16G, 7A), Midfielder Max Seibald (16G, 7A), Defenseman Eric Martin (2G, 1A, 30GB) and goalie Adam Fullerton.
The Outlaws and Cannons have met twice this season on the road, with Boston taking the first two match-ups by scores of 16-13 on May 15 and 17-12 on June 12. Both teams played a dead-even game for three quarters during their previous encounter, but the Cannons kept Denver scoreless in the fourth quarter while putting away five shots to beat the Outlaws. With Denver unbeaten at home, the Outlaws will look to continue that trend and take sole possession of first place in the MLL with a win.
