Mile High Lacrosse League Sponsors FREE clinic and scrimmage!

The Mile High Lacrosse League has reserved the Garrison Street Recreation Center at 9101 Ralston Rd in Arvada for 3 hours this Sunday January 3rd.

We will conduct a beginners clinic from 9am – 10am. We will discuss differences between field and box lacrosse, Rules  etc. Then starting at 10am we will scrimmage. We would like to have 2 separate games if there are enough people interested in playing.  This is all FREE OF CHARGE for anyone who comes out to join us!

For those of you who have never played box lacrosse and are not sure if you would like to participate in this upcoming season this is a good chance for you to play a game see what it’s like. If you like it, we can register you at the field for the upcoming box season which starts January 10th.  We still need players to complete the 6 team rosters.

Please feel free to invite your friends who are on the bubble or have always wanted to play lacrosse. Keep in mind the type of players our league is catering to!  ie: Do not invite your nephew who happens to be on the Mammoth practice squad. We are constantly trying to keep the balance between new players and skilled players with the heart of a coach.

Schedule for Sunday Jan 3rd:
9am – 10 am Clinic for beginners and new box players
10am – 11am – Game 1 - Scrimmage
11am – 12am – Game 2 – Scrimmage ( if enough players)
The field is astro turf but old. I suggest wearing tennis shoes but cleats will work as well. It’s all a matter of preference. If you have reversable tank tops or your team jerseys bring those as well. We will create teams on the fly. Lacrosse Helmet, lacrosse stick, gloves and arm protection are required. All goalies will get a chance to play.

Please RSVP to MIKE@MILEHIGHLACROSSE.COM if you are attending. In subject line put which session you will attend. i.e. – Clinic and/or Scrimmages 1 and 2 . This way I don’t have to open every email and can tally the replies easily.

Here’s additional info about the MHLL;

The Mile High Lacrosse League was founded and organized for adult novice and beginning lacrosse players, or those of us that haven’t played for quite some time.  We’re a very unique league that allows new and older players to play this great game whereas without it there’d be nowhere for us to play.  For most of us the MHLL is our only place to play.

Our league is a low-key league with a fun approach to the game.  We have a no body check rule, no unnecessary slash rule as well as a no profanity and no alcohol rule that are strictly enforced.  Scores and standings are secondary to just getting out there and having a great time bringing back those old skills, or learning new ones!

We do allow and encourage players with High School, College or Club experience to participate and request that they act as a mentor to our new players both on and off the field, teaching them the basics of lacrosse and helping throughout the games while keeping your pace of play down to match that of the beginners’ game.  You will act as Ambassadors of our league right there on the field, teaching, promoting fair play and good sportsmanship.

HOPE TO SEE YOU ALL THERE!!
