Job Description: Referee Assignor
Job Summary: Responsible for the coordination of referee assignments and payment, for the designated official season, within the jurisdiction of the Colorado Youth Lacrosse Association. Non-board paid position that reports to the Executive Committee.
Job Requirements:
• Assign certified referees to lacrosse games organized by the Colorado Youth Lacrosse Association
• Utilize web based assignment program to facilitate the assignment of officials
• Utilize web based assignment program to manage the pool of available referees including availability, profiles, payment reconciliation, and post game reports
• Communicate on regular basis with the referees to ensure that assignments are completed and that a process is in place to ensure that last minute cancellations by referees are filled
• Communicate with the CYLA Executive Committee regarding referee scheduling issues, pay schedules, and weekly management reports
Job Specifications
• Establish a referee assignment program that is responsive and accountable to CYLA Board members
• Work in close communication with Head Referee and League Scheduler
• Establish Referee Data Base for use by CYLA membership. Provide transparency to the data base to Executive Committee
• Assigns games fairly and evenly throughout referee roster
• Reports problem behavior by coaches, players, or spectators to referee coordinators
• Reports any issues regarding individual referees to referee coordinators
• Maintains accurate records regarding referee assignment throughout the season, including mentoring program and no shows, and shares information with head referee/Executive Committee on a weekly basis
• Provide payment for games worked (either through check or electronically) to all officials
• Provide CYLA Treasurer weekly invoice for all games officiated.
Professional Skills
• Experience with computer at a higher level
• Payroll Management System experience
• Strong communication & interpersonal skills
• Conflict resolution skills
• Experience with Arbitersports.com is an asset
Compensation
• One time set up fee – depending on requirements
• $6 per game officiated ($4.5 for single official games)
