MAMMOTH TO HOST NEW YORK THIS SATURDAY

Saturday’s game marks the first time the New York Titans will visit Pepsi Center to face the Mammoth. The only other time these franchises have squared off was last April when the Titans defeated the Mammoth 14-10 in New York.

Saturday night is designated as “New York, NY Night” and the Colorado team and fans look to show the Titans what it means to come into the Mile High City for a Mammoth game - in the loudest house in lacrosse.

Colorado looks to jumpstart their offense after an unusually slow start to the 2009 season. After scoring 12 goals in a season-opening win in Portland, the Mammoth offense has sputtered with back to back outings in the single digits - both home losses. Averaging less than nine goals per game, this talent-laden offense looks to find its groove against a New York team that is giving up over 11 goals per game.

Following just a few days to assimilate with new assistant coach – offensive coordinator, Dan Perreault, the Mammoth showed signs of great things to come during their fourth quarter comeback last week against Edmonton. Now, Mammoth fans hope an entire week with the new tutelage will pay huge dividends Saturday against New York. The high scoring Titans are led by sharpshooter Casey Powell, who comes into tonight’s game leading the NLL in goals (16) and points (33). Averaging 13.5 point per game, New York is 3-1 on the season after squeaking out an 8-7 win against Rochester last Saturday. Following their season opening loss to Toronto, the Titans have strung together three straight wins.
