DENVER – Junior Steph Coyne (Baltimore, Md.) had three goals and three assists, helping the No. 20 University of Denver women’s lacrosse team to a 19-8 victory over UC Davis at Barton Lacrosse Stadium on Friday afternoon.
Denver (9-5, 2-0 MPSF) opened the game with a torrent of goals, including a pair each by sophomore Lexi Sanders (Greenwood Village, Colo.) and junior Karen Morton (Adelaide, Australia), scoring five in the first nine minutes before UC Davis cracked the scoreboard. The Aggies scored only one additional goal in the first half, as the Pioneers rolled to a 14-2 lead at halftime.
