Bearcats Fall to No. 19 Denver - Marshall scores team-leading 12th goal

DENVER - The University of Cincinnati lacrosse team dropped a 19-3 decision to the No. 19 Denver Pioneers on Friday (March 21) afternoon at Barton Stadium.
Denver (6-3) jumped out to an 11-0 lead before the Bearcats got on the scoreboard with 1:14 left in the first half. Lindsey Marshall (Hilliard, OH/Hilliard Davidson) tallied her team-leading 12th goal of the season to get UC (1-6) into the scoring column.
Natalie Starvaggi (Loveland, OH/Mount Notre Dame) and Shannon Lynes (Ellicot City, MD/River Hill) scored in the second half for the Bearcats.
Lexi Sanders and Kristin Keravich each scored hat tricks for the Pioneers, who have won four straight.
Thirteen different players scored for the Pioneers, who were bouyed by 28 UC turnovers.
The Bearcats will take on Johns Hopkins on Thursday, March 27 at 7 p.m. in Baltimore. UC then returns home to Nippert Stadium to take on No. 3 Syracuse on March 30. The Bearcats will wear pink uniforms in support of breast cancer awareness for the 1 p.m. start against the Orange.

Aspen Skiers first-ever varsity lacrosse home game

Metro State has been selected as the next Onyx/Riddell Lacrosse MCLA Team of the Week

With a win over then-No. 9 Northern Colorado, Metro State has been selected as the next Onyx/Riddell Lacrosse MCLA Team of the Week.

Metro State topped the UNC Bears 12-11 in overtime Friday, March 14 in what was the Roadrunners’ only game of the week. The Roadrunners capitalized on a man-up opportunity in overtime in order to give them the win.

Michael Romett led Metro State with a three-goal, three-assist performance, while A.J. Martinez chipped in with three goals and two assists.

As a result of their win, the Roadrunners broke into the latest Lax World MCLA Division 2 Top 25 Poll. Metro State entered the poll ranked No. 22 and received 103 points.

As a first year MCLA program, Senior attackman James Foote (Lake Brantley H.S.; Longwood, FL) discussed his team’s recent success.

“Many of the RMLC teams remember the team we had last year. This year’s team has almost a completely different look, especially on defense and at the midfield. We are excited about our success.”

Metro State will host No. 7 Fort Lewis in a key RMLC Division 2 contest on March 29th at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park in Denver.
