DENVER – The No. 16 University of Denver men’s lacrosse team begins its 2008 road season at UMBC and No. 18 Towson this weekend.
Denver (1-1) will play UMBC (0-2) at UMBC Stadium on Saturday, March 1 at 11 a.m. ET. UMBC is coming off losses to No. 12 Delaware and Rutgers. This is the third meeting for the Pioneers and the Retrievers, with the series tied at 1-1. Denver won the last meeting in 2007 by a score of 13-7.
The Pioneers and Tigers (0-1) will meet on Sunday, March 2 at Johnny Unitas Stadium at 11 a.m. Towson lost its season opener to Loyola, 13-8. This is the third meeting for the Pioneers and the Tigers, with Towson leading the series, 2-0. The last meeting for these two teams was back in 2005, where the Tigers defeated the Pioneers 10-8.
The Pioneers fell 6-5 to North Carolina last weekend to fall to 1-1 on the season.
