Mammoth improve to 4-0 with 11-6 win over San Jose Stealth

The Colorado Mammoth continue to set the pace in the National Lacrosse both on the floor and at the turnstiles.
An 11-6 thrashing of the San Jose Stealth on Saturday night improved Colorado’s record to 4-0, and a sellout Pepsi Center crowd of 18,007 - the 13th capacity crowd in club history - boosted to more than 53,000 the number of fans who’ve attended the team’s three games in Denver.
GM Steve Govett has built a team that is so good it appears to have a lock on first place in the West Division only one-quarter of the way into its 16-game schedule.
Dan Carey scored three goals and Gee Nash got the goaltending win against the Stealth. It wasn’t close: Colorado had a 58-35 shots advantage.
“We moved the ball well and were patient and composed on offence,” said head coach Bob McMahon. “Our defence and goaltending were very sharp and allowed us to control the flow of the game.”
Carey also scored three goals when Colorado won 12-11 on Jason Wulder’s overtime goal in front of 6,322 in Portland’s Rose Garden Arena on Thursday. Chris Levis got the goaltending win in that one.
