TALKS BREAK OFF; NO AGREEMENT REACHED
Deadline for season cancellation is tonight at midnight ET
10/14/2007
The 2008 NLL season will be cancelled if a Collective Bargaining Agreement is not reached by Monday, October 15th.
The National Lacrosse League has announced that the weekend’s negotiations with the player’s association concluded on Sunday without reaching a new Collective Bargaining Agreement. No further talks are scheduled between the two sides at this time. The league’s 2008 regular season will be cancelled should an agreement not be reached by midnight on Monday, October 15th.
“We are very disappointed to be sitting here on the eve of the deadline without an agreement with the player’s association”, said George Daniel, NLL Deputy Commissioner and Chief Operating Officer. “We believe that the offer we’ve put on the table is agreeable to the
vast majority of the players. Our offer remains on the table until midnight on Monday.”
