Pioneers Host Albany in Fall Game - DU Volleyball to play NCAA tournament team in fall season

DENVER – The University of Denver men’s lacrosse team will play 2007 NCAA tournament quarterfinalist Albany on Saturday, Oct. 20 at 7 p.m. to wrap-up its 2007 fall season.

“Playing Albany this fall is going to be a great opportunity to see where we are,” head coach Jamie Munro said. “Albany was a NCAA Quarterfinalist last year and ranked in the top-10 in the nation. They play an exciting brand of lacrosse and I look forward to seeing how our team competes.”

DU, who finished 9-7 in 2007, returns 16 players and welcomes 21 newcomers, including five transfers. The Pioneers finished third in the Great Western Lacrosse League.

Albany finished 2007 with a 15-3 record and lost to Cornell in overtime in the quarterfinals of the 2007 NCAA Tournament.

Tickets for the game are available for $8 for adults and $5 for kids aged 12 and under and can be purchased by calling the Ritchie Center Box Office at 303-871-2236 or at www.ticketmaster.com.
