Group of DU men’s lacrosse freshmen gain national recognition
DENVER – Four freshmen members of the University of Denver men’s lacrosse team have been named to Inside Lacrosse’s Power 100 incoming freshmen rankings. Jamie MacDonald (Providence, R.I.), Ryan Driver (Centennial, Colo.), Jeff Brown (Cohasset, Mass.) and Jamie Lincoln (Ontario, Colo.) were recognized in the publication’s September issue.
“We are very excited about our recruiting class this year,” head coach Jamie Munro said. “Not only were four of our players ranked in the top-100, but we have several others that will impact our program. Overall, our recruiting class was rated No. 11 in the nation by Inside Lacrosse Magazine, which follows an eighth ranked class from a year ago. Our program continues to evolve and gain momentum. This year should be a lot of fun.”
MacDonald, a defenseman from The Salisbury School in Salisbury, Conn., was the highest ranking Pioneer on the list, coming in at No. 68. Driver, ranked No. 71, played attack at Cherry Creek High School. A defenseman at Cohasset High School, Brown was selected No. 75. Rounding out the list for DU is Lincoln, a midfielder who played last with the Calgary Roughnecks.
