Men’s Elite
Championship Bracket
Team 21 16, Merman 15
In by far the most exciting game of the tournament, the up and coming Mermen team were very impressive but couldn’t overcome the team from Cornell. This game saw about as many lead changes as there were goals; it was a barnburner for sure.
The game was relatively close throughout and was highlighted by goals from each team in the last forty seconds. Team 21 scored with 24 seconds to put them up by one. The Merman then won the face, missed a shot wide, and on the inbound hit a diving Boston Boinkins to tie the game with two seconds left on the clock.
The Merman’s youth was evident in overtime as they didn’t get a great look on goal, and had a few unforced errors. Team 21 capitalized on this and had possession for most of the overtime period. The 21 boys moved the ball well and with 1:45 left in the overtime period Casey Lewis beat his man for the winning goal.
For the Mermen, Mike Kimmel had six points with five goals. On the 21 side they had two four point scorers, Andrew Collins and Max Seibald both had three goals and an assist.
Lax Grip 11, Merrill Lynch 8
In another great quarterfinal game, the battle between two finesse teams was highly emotional. It was a great game to watch for many reasons but the fluidity and quickness of these two teams was inspiring.
Merrill Lynch went up by two goals to start the game but after that they never saw the lead again. The teams traded goals for most of the game with Lax Grip either ahead by one or tied until the middle of the third quarter. Lax Grip was able to string together four straight goals at the end of the third and beginning of the fourth to pull away from a good Merrill Lynch team.
Chris Sanderson was the star of this game, making fourteen saves while allowing eight goals. While he stopped 63% of the shots, which is impressive enough considering the talent Merrill Lynch had, he was almost unbeatable at the end of the game. Sanderson made three saves on the door step in the beginning of the fourth quarter to give his team the breathing room they need to advance to the final four.
Young Guns 10, Jammin’ Salmon 9
The second best game of the day was marked with determination and grit on both sides of the ball. The Young Guns looked like they would run away with the game early, opening up a four goal lead by the end of the first quarter. The Salmon stormed back with three unanswered goals in the 2nd to cut the Young Guns’ lead to one at halftime.
The Guns got the first goal of the 3rd quarter but Brett Robinson and Brian Koch scored goals less then a minute apart to tie the game with 6:09 left in the 3rd. Robinson and Koch paced the Salmon on the day with Robison scoring three goals and Koch notching three goals of his own to go along with his two assists.
That was the closest the Salmon would come to taking a lead, as the Young Gun’s rattled off four goals in a row to give themselves a 10-6 lead with 11:00 left in the 4th quarter. The Salmon fought hard and got scored three more goals in the game, with the last goal coming with 1:30 remaining in the final frame.
The Salmon did get the ball back with under a minute remaining but couldn’t convert and with the victory, Young Guns will be making their first final four appearance.
Go Fast 16, Club All Stars 5
Go Fast controlled the entirety of the game. It was good spirited and the score is not indicative of how even the play could have been. Too much offensive fire power and a fast transition game proved to be the undoing of Club All Stars.
For Go Fast, Spencer Cooperman had three goals, Scott Davidson and Steven Brooks each chipped in with two goals of their own.
Consolation Bracket
Team Guttman 16, Rocky Mountain Oyster 13
It was a run and gun high scoring game for the teams from Middlebury, and Denver. There were assists on half on the 29 goals in the game. Guttman held the lead most of the 2nd half but never was able to blow the game wide open.
Brine Elite 8, Tap Room/5280 7
Brine Elite started the game strong and was taking very good shots. It took Tap Room a little bit to warm up but they made it a game in the second half out scoring Brine 3-1 in the final quarter.
The Generals 13, Dunn Financial 8
In what seemed to be a battle of the lumbering teams, the Generals and Dunn Financial tried as hard as they could on the heat of Edwards turf field. The score until the fourth remained fairly even. In the end, thanks to the Murray clan the Generals pulled away with a six goal tare in the fourth to win.
Black Seal 17, IAS Team Breakaway 9
Black Seal were by far the more dominant team launching twice as may shots as IAS but somehow IAS managed to keep it a close game through the 3rd. In the 4th Black Seal out scored IAS 8-1 to take a commanding lead. The best part of the game was by far a behind the back goal by Black Seal goalie, Schroder.

Monday’s Results
8:30 AM Field 1 Colorado ChillLax 9 Team Rammit 10(OT)
In a very competitive game, both teams started this friendly rivalry a bit tired. It was 5-5 at the half. In the second half the game became serious and remained tied in regulation. Colorado ChillLax fouled in the final minute of OT and Rammit capitalized for the winning score with Kate Sebesta putting it in cage. Goalie Brooke Lewis had 15 saves.
9:45 AM Field 1 Lockton Loaded 4 Greene Turtle 13
The Turtles came out of their shells quite early. Lockton Loaded was misfiring and Greene Turtle dominated play. Jessica Adam and Caroline Cryer each tallied 3 goals for Greene Turtle.
11:00 AM Field 1 Detroit 8 Lakeshore 6
It was a well matched game. At half-time Lakeshore was up by one, 4-3. In the second half Detroit scored five goals while holding Midwest rival, Lakeshore to two goals. Danica Minor, Detroit goalie, had 10 saves to help keep Detroit in the lead.
12:15 PM Field 1 Team Lacrosse Wear 15 ReLAXers 6
From start to finish, ReLAXers controlled the game and dominated both the play and the scoreboard. ReLAXer, Caroline McGuire, had 5 goals in the winning effort.
1:30 PM Field 1 Lockton Loaded 12 Lakeshore 3
After misfiring in the first game, Lockton Loaded came ready to play. At half LL lead the game, 6-2. Offense was balanced and tallied another 6 to finish the game 12-3.
2:45 PM Field 1 Greene Turtle 20 Detroit 2
Greene Turtle controlled the ball very well. With good movement and excellent team work, the Turtles proved to be a solid team. With 12 players scoring, that is a lot of attack to cover.
8:30 AM Field 2 Gang Green 10 Revolution Lacrosse 12
The game started out very slow, both teams were barely awake. Gang Green’s goalie, Chelsea Kirk, had a jaw-dropping 10 saves. Whitney Douthett led the team in goals with 4 goals. It was a very fun game to watch.
9:45 AM Field 2 East West Sports 5 Outlaws 18
Once again, the Outlaws came out strong and got an early lead. East West never quit and continued to battle. Katie Chrest led the Outlaws with 5 goals.
11:00 AM Field 2 NYAC Subs 4 Vision 8
NYAC subs and Vision were both very close in the first half with a score of 4-1 Vision at the half. NYAC goalie, Sarah Benjamin, had an amazing 11 saves and never gave up. Without her, the game would have been very difficult for NYAC.
12:15 PM Field 2 Tap This 10 Team Ohio 8
In the beginning, Tap This was dominating Team Ohio. Towards the end of the game, Ohio came out strong and angry and ended the game only 2 goals behind. Anyone who watched the game was sure to enjoy it.
1:30 PM Field 2 East West Sports 11 Vision 3
East West Sports had it won from the beginning. Vision came out and fought as hard as they could the whole game but to no avail, they were overcome. East West worked the ball around and blended well as a team.
2:45 PM Field 2 NYAC Subs 3 Outlaws 12
The Outlaws played like they were playing to live or living to play. Either way, they had a great game with behind-the-back shots and crazy passes. With all of their talent they still played with good sportsmanship to make the game enjoyable for both teams. There was nothing that NYAC could do but watch, have fun, and be amazed.

Men’s Masters
Championship
Rusty Red 12, Middlebury 8
Although at first it appeared it was going to be another Championship game blowout by Rusty Red, the Middlebury squad had other ideas. They came out reenergized in the second half and used a six goal third quarter to get the Rusty Red back in their sights. In the end, however, flashy offensive play from the like of John Zulberti and Bill Edell was far too much for Middlebury to handle. Congratulations to the Rusty Red on their 5th straight Masters championship.
3rd Place Game
Lacrosse Wear 10, Noreaster/Jagermeister 5
In this solid win by Lax Wear, they owned the game from start to finish. They out ran, out scored, and out ground balled Jagermeister. Lax Wear used hustle to win the game and it worked well.
Consolation Games
Barely Legal 6, Lax Gear 3
This was an evenly matched game that was very competitive. The teams had fairly even stat sheets. Barely Legal played slightly cleaner and managed to pull a win out.
Tribal + Mac 10, Landrover + Jail Bait 5
The intended match-ups of Tribal Elders vs Landrover and Mac vs Jail Bait had only one full squad (Landrover) show up at game time. The resulting match up of the mixed teams was interesting. A close game through three quarters, Tribal/MAC scored four goals in the 4th quarter. Overall they adapted to the chaos better, winning it 10-5 in the end.
