Denver Outlaws Update Coaching Staff
GM Brian Reese takes coaching reins
Denver-June 29, 2007- The Denver Outlaws of Major League Lacrosse announced today that for the time being, General Manager Brian Reese will take over the majority of the Head Coaching duties currently occupied by Jim Beardmore.
Beardmore will remain with the team as an Associate Head Coach. All other staff members will remain the same.
The Outlaws sit at 2-3 on the season and have struggled to find the form that led them to the Western Conference Championship one year ago.
Outlaws GM and newly appointed Head Coach Brian Reese said that, “This move was made to assist Jim with his role as a coach and to give him a more experienced set of eyes on the sideline.”
“I have been involved in this league since it started and I have a strong knowledge of personnel and tendencies,” Reese said. “Coach Beardmore felt that having me on the sideline to assist him was necessary for the success of the team.”
Reese also feels as though the move can help shake things up with the team and get them back on the winning side of things.
“This is a move to help our team get back on the right track and winning games, which I know we will do,” Reese said.
Reese has always had a presence on the sidelines for the Outlaws and starting this Saturday night in Chicago against the Machine, he will step into the Head Coaching position.
