Denver looks to improve to 3-2 with a win
Denver - June 21, 2007- The Denver Outlaws hit the road on Saturday, June 23, to take on the San Francisco Dragons. Outlaws attackman Brendan Mundorf, with a team-high 14 goals this season to go along with 6 assists, leads the Outlaws into battle against their division rival.
The Dragons enter the game in last place in the Western Conference, with a 1-3 record on the year. The Outlaws sit at 2-2, which puts them in second place in the division.
Each team will be looking to bounce back after tough one-goal losses in their last game. Last Saturday, the Dragons dropped a close one at home against the L.A. Riptide. L.A. picked up the 14-13 victory on a Wes Green goal with 10 seconds left in regulation. Denver also lost a heartbreaker, as they fell to the Rochester Rattlers by a score of 27-26 in the highest scoring game in Major League Lacrosse history.
San Francisco is looking to get back on the winning side of things and move up the Western Conference standings. The Dragons, behind head coach Brian Silcott, are looking to get their first home win of the 2007 season. Star attackman Ryan Powell, with 8 goals and 8 assists on the year, hopes to have a breakout game against Outlaws goalie Trevor Tierney and help the Dragons get the victory.
The Outlaws will be shooting for a big performance from their standout lineup, as they try to pick up their third win of the year and get in the hunt for another regular season Western Conference title.
