Zywicki scores lacrosse tourney winner
Canada edged Iroquois Nationals 15-14 in overtime Sunday to capture the World Indoor Lacrosse Championships in Halifax, Nova Scotia. Former Denver Outlaw Jeff Zywicki scored the game-winner for the team coached by Gary Gait, coach of the Colorado Mammoth.
The Mammoth’s Tom Ethington, also of the Outlaws, scored a late goal to help the United States to a 17-10 win over England in the bronze-medal game. The U.S. turned an 8-6 halftime lead into a blowout after it scored six unanswered goals to begin the second half.
